Virtuous deeds are done quietly, but this is the news that we would like to share with you and hopefully inspire someone to do the same. Recently, employees of the Scientific Alliance company made a charity trip to the animal shelter in Hostomel, Kyiv Oblast.
Gostomel Shelter is a place where more than 700 animals have found shelter. Many of these animals are those left without owners because of a full-scale invasion. The history of the Gostomel Shelter is impressive. It was created on the site of an abandoned cowshed more than 23 years ago. The founders had to undergo a lot of hardships and challenges during the shelter's existence. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion in February 2022, Hostomel was one of the first to find itself in the epicentre of hostilities. The shelter was under occupation for more than a month, but it survived and saved the lives of each of its residents. After the occupation, it resumed its active work. Due to the explosion of the Kakhovka dam, the shelter became a second home to several hundred animals rescued from the catastrophe.
Ensuring the smooth operation of the shelter is not an easy task. Every day it needs a continuous flow of food, care, and medicine for the well-being of its furry inhabitants. In general, the Gostomel Shelter does not have reliable sources of funding and permanent employees, so its work relies on donations and volunteer initiatives.
That is why our charitable foundation decided to support this noble cause. The Scientific Alliance team managed to raise the necessary funds and purchase feed for the animals. However, we did not limit ourselves to this and decided to personally visit the shelter for help. Our employees cleaned a huge area, creating more pleasant conditions for animals and making the work of the staff a little easier.
Working as a team, we realized that caring for animals and the environment that is their home has quite a therapeutic effect. Undoubtedly, the most pleasant part of the visit was walking the dogs, which left a plenty of positive emotions in our employees. It was clear that these innocent creatures craved human companionship, and it was quite easy and pleasant to give them the care and affection they needed.
But the story does not end there. The work of the Gostomel Shelter continues and they need constant support. Therefore, we invite you to join this cause.
